Senior Div2 League Cup Winners Presentation

Saturday 15th November

After the Rossa match and from 4pm -8pm there will be a chance to see the division2  league cup and senior team in the clubroom . There will also be a presentation to the U16 boys for player of the year , light supper will be available .

Seniors in Intermediate Final

The Senior team have booked their place in the Antrim Intermediate Final against All Saints after winning their match against Aghagallon . The final score was Moneyglass 1-18 vs 1-12 Aghagallon . The final will be at the end of October and when we know the confirmed date it will be published here , bulletin and noticeboard .

Meanwhile

Their next match is Saturday 6thSept  @ Moneyglass 2pm .

O’Cahan Cup Match Cancelled

For the second time the match had to be cancelled be cause the pitch was water logged due to overnight and persistent rain . Which will frustrate our senior management but will allow the team more time to develope their game stratergy.

Senior playoff match at Casement

The venue is Casement tomorrow night . This is a promotion / relegation match , come along and show your support for the lads at this decisive match.

Moneyglass 1-19 Portglenone 0-11

Moneyglass gained another important victory towards division 1 survival with a comprehensive win over championship finalist Portglenone on Sunday evening. Moneyglass lead from start to finish and were inspired by some great performances throughout the field.

The vital score in the first half came in the 12th minute when Gareth Quinn one-two with midfield partner Adrian McKeefry to score the only goal of the game. Moneyglass completely out played their rivals and went into the break with a 1:10 to 0:4 lead.

The second half followed in the same fashion with two great scores from substitute James Marron and an impressive effort from the side line from Ryan Boyd. And although Portglenone made a number of changes and picked up their play in the last ten minutes it was never enough to trouble Moneyglass.

James Scullion, Ciaran Duffin and Mirron Neeson were solid in defence throughout. Gareth Quinn (1:0), Adrian McKeefry (0:03) completely ruled midfield. Upfront some superb long range efforts from Kevin Marron (0:05), Ryan Boyd (0:05) and James Marron (0:04) ensured a comfortable victory for Moneyglass 1:19 Portglenone 0:11.

Moneyglass 3-15 Dunloy 3-9

Moneyglass gave their survival hopes a boost with an enthralling win over Dunloy. It was the visitors who had the better start with a goal after 20 seconds. The sides then traded points until the 13th minute when a sweeping counter attract from some great defending saw Kevin Marron hit the net to give Moneyglass the lead for the first time in the match.

The sides again swapped points until the 20th minute when a lucky break saw Ryan Doyle the the keeper for Moneyglass’s second of the match making the score 2; 03 to 1:02. But the excitement didn’t end there when a breaking ball at the edge of the square saw Dunloy score their second goal of the game in the 22nd minute to regain the lead, their excitement was short lived when Doyle rounded the keeper a second time for his second and Moneyglass’s third. Giving them a 3:06 to 2:03 lead at the break.

Both sides again traded scores until 10 minutes into the second half when another breaking ball on the edge of the square lead to Dunloy’s third goal setting the game up for a exciting finale. The home side then stepped a gear for a 10 minute spell and with 2 superb long range efforts from Adrian Mckeefy and a point from a side line kick from Ryan Boyd, gave Moneyglass an 8 point lead.

Despite losing Colm McCoy for 2 yellows and a late Dunloy surge the home side ran out a 3:15 to 3:09 victory. The game saw some great football with a man of the match performance for Kevin Brady, superb defending from Gerard Carey. The midfield was dominated by Adrian Mckeefy (0-4) and Gareth Quinn and in attack Kevin Marron (1-4), Ryan Boyd (0-4) and Ryan Doyle all shone

Moneyglass 0:16 - Lamh Derg 0:05 (1st July)

Moneyglass made an explosive start scoring six unanswered points in the first 21mintues of the game. With two scores coming from the left foot of Kevin Marron from free kicks, two from full forward Gareth Quinn and special solo efforts from Ryan Doyle and Kevin Brady.
